Therapy for where you are, and where you want to go
How Sessions With Me Work
Consultation Call
Before we get started, we’ll have a brief consultation call. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, what you’re looking for, and whether I can ethically help. We’ll also make sure our schedules and availability line up. Most importantly, we’ll see if we’re a good fit. Therapy is personal—you should feel comfortable with your therapist.
Your First Session
Your first session is your intake. We’ll go through paperwork, consent and confidentiality, and some of your history, including your mental health, medical, and trauma history. Don’t panic—I’ll keep this part moving so you don’t feel interrogated and we can actually get to therapy. If there’s time—which there usually is—we’ll jump right in.
Building Trust
I don’t expect you to trust me right away. I’m still a stranger—even after our consultation and intake. I understand you might not feel comfortable telling me everything right away. This takes time, sometimes a lot of time, depending on who you are and how you operate. We’ll build our therapeutic relationship together, at a pace that feels right for you.
Doing The Work
This is the hardest part. Not every session will feel like a breath of fresh air. Sometimes you’ll leave feeling lighter; sometimes you’ll feel exhausted. You might not have an “aha!” moment, or much to say at all. That’s okay. All of it is welcome here. I’m here to support you, challenge you when needed, and celebrate your wins with you.
