Matrescence
Telehealth Therapy in Colorado.
Becoming a mother changes more than your daily routine. Your relationships, identity, priorities, and sense of self can all shift. You love your child, but you also miss parts of your old life. You feel pressure to enjoy motherhood while trying to figure out who you are now.
Matrescence is the transition into motherhood, encompassing the emotional, psychological, and relational changes that come with it.
Changes in body image, feeling disconnected from your body, or struggling to feel attractive.
Together we can explore:
Navigating physical pain, exhaustion, and the demands of postpartum recovery.
Pressure to "bounce back" physically, emotionally, and mentally.
Changes in your relationship with your partner and navigating new roles and expectations.
Loving your baby while also desperately needing time for yourself.
Guilt around needing or asking for help, taking breaks, or prioritizing your own needs.
Anxiety about doing everything right and constantly questioning your decisions as a mother.
Grieving parts of your identity, independence, and life before motherhood.
What working together can look like
We'll make space for the parts of motherhood that feel rewarding, overwhelming, confusing, or difficult to talk about. Together, we'll explore the changes you're experiencing, reconnect with parts of yourself that may have gotten lost along the way, and work toward feeling more comfortable in your new identity.
Our work isn't about becoming the perfect mother. It's about finding a version of motherhood that feels fulfilling to you, while remembering that your needs, identity, and happiness matter too.
